What's My Role?
Joining this international financial services giant on a 6 month contract, you'll be required to hit the ground running during a busy season for the business, and for the finance team in particular.
During the implementation of a new ERP, you'll support the Finance Manager throughout these times by ensuing ongoing quality control, reporting compliance, accurate and timely reconciliations and tax reporting.
You'll be sat in the heart of the office, amongst lively and sociable finance, marketing and customer service teams.
Duties include:
- Month-end close including journal entries, prepayments and accruals
- Assisting with the preparation of the half-year and year-end financial statements of the business
- Assisting with the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors
- Balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Preparation of income tax returns, GST and BAS
- Other ad-hoc finance duties as required
Given the new demand placed on the finance team with the transition, you'll need to be self-sufficient, reliable and an excellent communicator.
What Do They Need?
Our client is looking for an accountant with 5 + years experience. Given the hands on nature and the exposure to reports and financial statements, you will need to be either CA or CPA qualified and ideally immediately available. If you have a two week notice, our client will wait for the right person!
Our client will also consider those on working holiday visas.
What Experiences Should I Have?
Exposure to complex banking and intercompany accounting / reconciliations will be needed, as will experience with consistent and timely month end reporting processes.
A sound understanding of accounting standards, Australian taxation and General Ledger journal posting and coding are also highly desirable.
