We have an opportunity for an Accountant to join the Asset Services division team in our Southbank office in Melbourne VIC.
 
The Accountant is responsible for establishing and controlling the Contract finances, deep diving into data and generating financial reports, providing insight, and leading process improvement in the tracking and management of financial and cost data.
 
This position will work with a dispersed business team and provide insightful information to guide proactive decision making that drives the business to achieving the planned outcomes.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Analyse financial and project information, identifying opportunities/risks and recommending improvements
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, margin results and the project actual performance compared to the budget/forecast plans controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
  • Maintain the data integrity of the contract financial data in SAP
  • Assist with the preparation of the contact management reports including; budget and forecasts utilisation reporting, cash flow forecast and any other ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Assist Senior Divisional accountant and Business controller with monthly reporting requirements packs for key stake holders, variance analysis and commentary
  • Consolidate Divisional results -Profit & Loss and cash flow management.  Analyse and managing the Divisional financial results including performance, position and cashflow.
  • Run the month end process in an efficient and timely manner, complying with time schedules as per set deadlines
  • Collate, prepare reporting and presentation of the financial outcome, and projections with insightful commentaries for all contracts/projects under remit
  • Conduct financial evaluations on existing projects, carrying out business modelling and risk assessments
  • Assist with various project related issues
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
To be successful in this role;
  • You will hold a degree in commerce or accounting coupled with 7-10 years’ experience in broad financial roles
  • Be CPA or CA qualified (preferred)
  • Experience in large ERP systems specifically SAP and advanced excel skills.
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Understanding of project based environment
  • Experience delivering insightful reporting analytics and financial commercial information to manage business risk and opportunities  
  • Strong communication skills are essential oral and written including negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships at all stakeholder levels
  • A solid commercial understanding
  • Demonstrated capacity and initiative to solve problems with energy and a positive attitude.
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
