The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Taxation Accountant will be responsible for managing and the reporting of financial information for COS. You will analyse, report, maintain and give advice on the financial dealings of the organisation, to suggest alternative ways to achieve the desired outcome and provide advice on associated record-keeping and compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Timely preparation of month end and year end management accounts (financial statements including P&L and Balance Sheet)
- Timely preparation of year end statutory financial statements
- Timely preparation of reports for month, quarter and year end
- Tax compliance and lodgements (monthly BAS, quarterly IAS for CO Staffing, FBT return and ITR)
- Maintenance of general ledger and fixed assets register
- Review expense classifications
- Cash flow preparation and maintenance
- Annual financial budget for the company
- Assist with insurance renewals
- Management of customer rebates and MVC supplier rebates
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Assist with projects as assigned by the Financial Controller
About You
The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related field, CPA / CA or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills
- Professional presentation skills
- Must exercise professional competence and due care at all times
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and influence various levels of financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong initiative
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Sound judgment, decision making and strong problem solving capabilities
- Ability to prioritise, with excellent time management skills
