Exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Team Leader/Manager to join this leading, high profile organisation. The is initially a 6 month contract opportunity with the potential to extend. It will be an immediate start.

As Finance Team Leader of Research Finance, you will provide consistent, relevant, timely and accurate financial advice to research stakeholders, including heads of departments and centres. You will collaborate with and provide guidance to support divisions in managing the financials associated with research projects including establishing research budgets, forecasting research income and expenditure, investigating and managing variances on actual performance against budgets and reporting on financial performance. 

You will be required to meet regularly with stakeholders to ensure required levels of financial support are understood and agreed upon. You will monitor the financial performance of divisions, as well as stakeholder activities, escalating more complex issues to the Director.

In addition you will lead and mentor research finance staff, including bi-annual performance reviews, to develop capability, optimise engagement, motivation and productivity. 

Finally you will be required to work in partnerships with other Finance teams, to provide quality insights and maintain efficient and customer focussed finance function. 

To be considered for this role you will be CA/CPA qualified with previous experience working as a Finance Manager or team leader. You will understand financial risks and relevant mitigating controls across end to end processes. You will have strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, coupled with demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex information to non-financial stakeholders. You will have previous experience managing staff and building strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to meet organisational expectations.
