An opportunity has become available for a Payroll Officer to join a motivated team on a 6 month temporary basis located in Mascot.
Client Details
Our client are a highly successful, globally recognised aviation company who are currently seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to help them through a busy period.
Description
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following;
- Ensuring that all payroll processing is performed within strict timeframes, including new employee details, terminations, master file changes, timesheets, leave, award increases etc
- Maintaining accurate and timely employee master file (payroll and benefits) details which are in line with conditions of employment
- Making any corrections and adjustments to payroll data identified as part of assessment and audit processes or by any other means
- Applying income tax rules, roster schedules and award entitlements to ensure accurate and timely salary and wages payments for employees in accordance with their relevant award or employment contract
- Ensuring that audit requirements are met at all times
- Ensuring internal controls and processes are adhered to e.g. completion of work log on a daily basis, balancing of the payroll etc
- Continuous improvement activities in the area of both process and controls and present these to the Payroll Coordinator
- Maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a high quality of service at all times
- Providing support to the Payroll Supervisor as required and ensure that he/she is informed of all major issues
Profile
The successful applicant for the role of Payroll Officer will possess;
- An understanding of Payroll principles including tax and leave legislation
- Experience with EBA’s and Awards
- Proven time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
- High level of initiative and pro-activeness
- Attention to detail is essential
