Based in our Wollongong Head Office, our Accounts department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and flexible accounts professional responsible for branch balancing and settlements, including reconciliation of our ATM’s, branches, IMB investors and borrowers and our general ledger system. An eye for detail will assist your success in this role to investigate and identify any discrepancies. This role will also include assistance with accounts payable, treasury settlements and bank reconciliation when covering staff absences.
The person:
* HSC and/or Accounting certificate (min Stage II) or equivalent
* Has an understanding of basic double entry accounting principles and general ledger systems
* Financial institution experience preferred but not essential
* Knowledge of balancing/settlements and an understanding of clearance processes
* Has a friendly and confident phone manner with effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of people
* Is able to follow instructions and procedures carefully
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills to be able to identify and investigate data and discrepancies and action through to resolution
* Is digitally literate, technically savvy with good computer and keyboard skills - MS Office knowledge a bonus
* Displays initiative in their work and enjoys working in teams but able to work independently if required.
