The Exciting Career Opportunity:

A brilliant position has now become available for a talented Technical/Industrial Sales Manager who has a passion for people, hunting for new business and delivering outstanding, best in class' customer service.

You will join this already hugely successful business, which has a huge market share servicing the mining industry with their hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid transfer & lubrication products. You will be responsible for looking after clients and hunting for new sales opportunities with clients based in the Karratha area which you will be servicing from Perth. This role is based in Perth permanently and you will be expected to visit your clients in Karratha for 1 week out of every month, so this does not involve extensive travel.

Building rapport, developing trust and delivering effective technical/industrial solutions to your clients is of paramount importance, so we are looking for an effective people person' who has a passion for industrial products within a technical capacity. You will be given product training and excellent support with this organisation.

Candidates from a Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Fluid Transfer or Lubrication Product background will be highly regarded; however, this specific industry knowledge is not essential as long as you have worked with products which fit within the technical or industrial product portfolio. Most importantly, it is essential that you possess and demonstrate excellent technical ability along with a keen attitude to learn and develop your own knowledge with this product range.

What you will be expected to do:

You will be a highly valued member of an existing, successful sales team and will be responsible for:

  • Identifying new sales opportunities within existing client accounts in Karratha
  • Hunting for new business to win new clients
  • Calling clients to identify correct decision makers/stakeholders
  • Visiting clients once a month in Karratha to build a relationship, understand their business and their issues
  • Delivering effective solution sales' to your clients problems
  • Building a reputation as trusted business advisor' and technical guru' within your area
  • Following up on quotations and convert to actual order
  • Undertaking negotiation with clients around pricing, terms and other issues
  • Using the CRM system to update client details and update your sales pipeline
  • Creating a strong and healthy sales pipeline of potential opportunities
  • Provide technical and customer support for the internal sales team
  • Dealing with customer problems and resolving effectively to deliver win-win' outcome
  • Continuous review of sales strategy, quote success ratios and order history
  • Meet sales revenue, kpi's and margin targets

To succeed in this role:

You will need to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Demonstrate a strong background in proven field/territory sales
  • Happy to travel to Karratha once a month for 1 week to visit your clients
  • Have a hunter mentality and highly self-motivated to succeed in a sales environment
  • Committed and passionate about achieving sales targets and delivering results
  • High level of technical aptitude and technical focus - doesn't have to be in hydraulics or pneumatics as long as it is technical or industrial
  • Strong customer service and problem solving skills
  • Be a born negotiator
  • Highly solution sales orientated
  • Able to engage clients and stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to learn quickly and have an enquiring mind
  • Self-motivated and organised to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate superior verbal and written communication skills
