We are a well-established and highly successful family owned company specializing in the sales and distribution of animal equipment products, supplying the rural sector including rural merchants and some Vets. 

Reporting to the Australian Sales Manager the successful candidate will join a an already fantastic group of sales reps across Australia. Your focus will be building client relationships, successfully creating sales, in the Western Victorian and Tasmanian areas, so you must be prepared to have nights away from your home base. We look after all our Sales Reps. and provide a company car, laptop, and the normal tools of trade. 

Selection Criteria: 

Essential  

Skills and experience 

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in a sales rep or account management role is essential
  • Independence and self motivation to work autonomously while travelling and from your home office. 
  • Technologically savvy, with the ability to competently utilise sales related software systems to maximise role efficiency and be able to evaluate sales data to assist your customers to grow their business. 
  • Competency with written and oral internal and external communication 
  • A planned, systematic and organised approach to responsibilities while being flexible to the changing needs of your clients. 
  • Practical farming or industry related experience would be highly desirable 
  • High level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver oral presentations and reports as required. 
  • An ability to accurately complete paperwork and follow up on details 

Personal attributes and soft skills 

  • Energetic, hardworking, persistent and a team player. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, stakeholders and company personnel. 
  • Excellent organisation and planning ability. 
  • Ability to work alone and sometimes isolated, whilst maintaining positive relationships. 

The fine print: 

  • There is expectation for occasional out of hours work including customer engagement, sales conferences, Fieldays etc. 
  • Computer competency is a given for this role (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook etc.), as is a full driver's licence.
