We are looking for a self-motivated person who has excellent organisational skills, the ability to make decisions and who is an excellent communicator. Ideally you will have a good understanding of working with supply chain and excellent relationship building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Purchasing physical and virtual (software) products from a number of vendors in a timely and responsive manner as per SLA’s and in accordance with MBO’s.
  • Updating ETA's for all open purchase orders. This includes liaising with vendors, freight forwarders and warehouse staff.
  • Performing MIGO on all vendors as required.
  • Use vendor’s website tools to resolve complex product configuration issues prior to shipping in order to ensure orders are processed correctly.
  • Manage daily EDI Purchasing activities.
  • Working with inventory planners to maintaining product category listings and re-order points.
  • Obtain information regarding product marketing and other issues that may affect purchasing lead times.
  • Ensuring inventory integrity. Including involvement in QTR stock takes
  • Tracking orders to ensure goods are received in a timely manner.
  • Resolve all outstanding issues such as short shipments, product quality, etc.
  • Communicating with internal staff, suppliers and freight forwarders - both verbal and written.

  • Effective communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • PC literacy - Outlook, Excel, Word and familiarity using web based applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake detailed Analysis and reporting.
  • Problem solving skills to resolve customer concerns.

Experience:

 

  • Previous purchasing experience would be preferred.
  • Any previous experience with specific purchasing experience for IT-based products or website based ordering tools would be considered highly.
  • Previous employment in a distribution company would be preferred.
  • Exposure to SAP would be highly regarded.
