The Venue:

The MCG is so much more than Australia’s biggest sporting stadium. It has function and dining spaces to suit any occasion, houses Australia’s largest collection of sporting memorabilia at the National Sports Museum, and features state of the art technological capabilities that can enhance any event. With the ability to host 10 guests to thousands, throughout 29 varied event spaces, the MCG is an exciting venue to sell and work.

  • Experience in hotels, venues, general event sales is desired

About the role:

  • Responsibility for MCG revenue targets, which make up the overall group target
  • Following of EPICURE sales process, including receiving enquiries, ascertaining the customer’s requirements, providing relevant details and utilising negotiating skills, converting enquiry into confirmed bookings
  • Pro-active and efficient service delivery, which anticipates and accommodates client
  • needs
  • Host site inspections and client meetings
  • Development of strong and ongoing client relationships to encourage repeat business
  • Bookings
  • Conduct regular sales calls to increase business levels (in consultation with the Sales Manager)
  • Attend sales meetings and where requested, prepare and present individual
  • activities and progress
  • Maintain thorough venue and product knowledge and an understanding of the
  • EPICURE service standards and philosophies to ensure clear communication with
  • clients
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Melbourne venue and events market and key competitors
