Birch and Waite are one of Australia’s leading national premium food businesses delivering high quality and innovative products across several segments. Our Further Manufacturing segment provides these sachets and sauces along with other products and actively supports product development to meet the needs of a dynamic and diverse client base. With growth in this segment, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate person to the new role of Account Manager.

Reporting into a high calibre segment National Account Manager, your role is responsible for developing and supporting the achievement of the segment business and sales plans, including managing an existing client portfolio as well as collaborating with team members to identify new opportunities or markets for growth. The role is predominately office based, is hands on and needs you to have a ‘can do’ approach to all sales and administrative aspects of the job. Other key elements involve:-

  • Creating, supporting, retaining and maintaining existing accounts through strong account and relationship management
  • Achieving sales targets, call cycles, presentations and product quoting
  • NPD project management
  • Managing supply and price negotiation with key client representatives/procurement managers
  • Assist in developing and setting segment plans, monitor segment trends and understand category/customer/competitor insights
  • Though your application of food technology and/or knowledge of food, promoting solutions for further manufacturing product development or new market opportunities
  • Providing support to the National Account Manager as needed
     

To be successful in this exciting role, you will have:-

  • Strong account management/sales experience in the food industry with a motivation and ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Relationship builder who can share and build positive energy with existing and new clients resulting in quality sales growth
  • Ability to think on your feet, innovate, be a problem solver and solutions provider
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to follow through
  • Strong influencing, communication and negotiation skills
  • Have a true passion for all things Food
