Valmont Industries  is a leading producer and distributor of products for the infrastructure and agricultural markets. Our division Webforge Locker is a major supplier of grating and handrail products as well as general industrial applications of perforated and expanded metal and wire mesh into large-scale projects across a number of sectors, with manufacturing plants across Australia.  

We now have an exceptional opportunity for an Internal Sales Representative  based in Townsville to join our team. This dynamic role will see you support the sales team in developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective customers by providing exceptional customer service. 

Key Responsibilities include:  
  • Engaging with customers to understand their needs and requirements;
  • Manage general office administration and ensure office runs smoothly;
  • Providing timely response to requests for quotations and processing sales orders;
  • Ensure customers are kept informed and expectations are met and exceeded;
  • Providing great professional customer service and responding to inbound telephone customer calls, emails or face-to-face queries;
  • Maintaining relationships with current and potential customers to ensure customer satisfaction and future business opportunities;
  • Liaising with all necessary internal stakeholders such as manufacturing, sales and branch management to confirm delivery commitments etc.
Your background: 
  • Previous experience within Internal Sales/Customer Service position ideally in the industrial/manufacturing industry;
  • Strong computer skills
  • A professional approach and strong customer service mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with strong attention to detail;
  • Proactive and self-driven coupled with an ability to adapt to different customers and their requirements;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate with people of all levels both internally and externally;
  • Technically minded and have the ability to read technical drawings 
  • A current Forklift license or interest to obtain one is desirable
