About the role

With a solid understanding of the organisation's vision, strategy and business operations, the Human Resources Coordinator guides and manages the overall provision of HR resource services, policies and programs, including provision of expert advice to the management Team. 

The HR Coordinator contributes to the strategy, decision making and organisational development required to sustain the company and will ensure its ability to attract, retain, develop and manage highly engaged and committed personnel. 

HR Management, Planning and Administration:

  • Provide timely and accurate advice on HR management activities, policies, practices, conditions of employment, entitlements and related issues to managers and staff.
  • Resource planning to ensure the organisational structure is fit for purpose and the jobs contained within the structure are well designed.
  • Maintain and strengthen HR documentation including letters of offer, contracts, induction briefs, policies & procedures, templates and organisation charts.
  • Generate monitoring, evaluation & learning tools to measure HRM performance and staff satisfaction.
  • Develop regular reports as requested by the Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate and/or attend a range of organisation wide meetings, forums and events relevant to HRM.

Employee Relations:

  • Develop, implement and review HR policies and procedures to promote best practice and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Facilitate an engaging and high performing culture.
  • Consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders when generating planning options or solutions to ensure transparency and strengthen buy in and commitment.

Staffing and Recruitment:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, incorporating position descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and induction.
  • Supervise the separation of exiting staff including conducting exit interviews, separation checklists, and closure of personnel files.

Employee Reward:

  • Design and manage a sustainable total reward strategy for the organisation that supports the attraction and retention of staff.
  • Maintain salary system against existing benchmark framework.

Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing (WHSW):

  • Oversee compliance with WHSW and other external requirements and provide planning advice in these areas.
  • Coordinate a variety of WHSW activities ensuring relevant safety, fire and evacuation training and ergonomic assessments are delivered to staff.
  • Coordinate management of notified workplace injuries and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Support team building and social committee initiatives.

Skills and experience

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related disciplines

 

Experience & knowledge:

• At least 2 years work experience in HR officer or management role. 

• Knowledge of principles and methods for learning and training design and measurement of training impacts.

• Demonstrated success in leading institutional HR policy and practice.

• Fluent in English & Chinese

• Extensive knowledge and evidence of application of contemporary HR practices and strategies, such as strategic workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, on-line learning, Equal Employment Opportunity, diversity and organisational change and reviews.
