We are looking for an enthusiastic Recruitment & People Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will participate in a variety of mentoring and recruitment activities so that Skylines people are the best in the industry as well as assisting our managers in mentoring, training and building people.

The main aspects of this role include:

  • Assist our Management team in mentoring, supporting, training and developing people and advise on all People concerns
  • Understand, interpret and provide advice on relevant Awards and Agreements
  • Creatively and proactively contribute to building culture based on our values
  • Be a strong coach to the leaders in the organisation to improve their HR skills and awareness
  • Empathetically, fairly and firmly support managers in performance managing employees where required, including termination
  • Act as confidential support and adviser to all Team Members and provide guidance on employee relations matters
  • Actively engage with potential Team Members
  • Communicate with potential Team Members for when positions become available
  • Provide shortlist of candidates for State Managers, or other designated persons, for interviews
  • Pre-Qualify and make appointments for State Managers, or other designated persons, if requested
  • Liaise with other employment programmes including school and TAFE career advisors and IPO (industry Placement Officers)
  • Be actively working towards finding and engaging new apprentices
  • Manage electronic records, internal systems and databases
  • Establish and effectively manage a casual workers data base
  • Develop reports relating to recruitment and retention of Team Members (no. of applicants, turnaround time, acceptance rates, etc.)
  • Participate in other aspects of the recruitment process, as required

 

Your attributes and requirements

•             Qualifications and experience within HR industry or other related field are preferable

•             Excellent organisational and time management skills

•             Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including telephone etiquette

•             Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft GP)

•             Works well within a team environment

•             Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

•             Strong customer service focus

•             Demonstrate confidentiality and privacy
