We are looking for a HR Manager to provide business focused, strategic and operational HR advice and services for key client groups.  These client groups are varied in nature from Field Sales, to our Hardware functions. You will need to interpret policies and employment legislation, advise on risk management, and coach and support managers in handling people management, industrial relations and change processes.  This role will suit someone who is outcome driven, but is aware of the policies and processes involved to achieve this in a corporate environment.


You will identify and promote new ways of working and empowering approaches to people management. As the HR Manager, you will develop relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on key people issues.

You will assess and anticipate HR-related needs, and through collaborative partnerships across your specific business groups in Oracle and deliver value-added service to management and employees to enhance the employee experience.

Following are the aspects which this role will focus on:

 

Develop and manage the People Plan for the region / client group

  • Work in partnership with client group to identify the people implications of strategic and business plans and other developments.
  • Promote new ways of working and agree appropriate local-level interventions to maximise opportunities, support change and manage risk.
  • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Lead and support key regional people initiatives (i.e. hero of the quarter)
  • Review and align regional priorities against broader HR/People plan

 

Partner to support managers on all aspects of people management

  • Provide guidance to managers and staff regarding available training and development opportunities
  • Support people leaders and managers in creating an effective ‘feedback and coaching culture’ across Oracle
  • Support investment in development within client group
  • Run in-house training as required

 

Manage annual HR activities

  • Support annual HR processes including performance management, remuneration review, talent management and success planning
  • Support follow-up activities related to employee engagement survey and action planning for region / stakeholders
  • Encourage effective use of the probation period for all new hires, including conducting new staff feedback interviews
  • Ensure all performance related matters are clearly documented and retained on file, and that managers are aware of required process
  • Provide timely guidance & advice to all Managers and staff in relation to Oracles terms & conditions of employment
  • Continuously improve knowledge and documentation of local conditions of employment

 

Further to the above, you will have the opportunity to work on some projects which are shaping Oracle’s HR remit in Australia, including Onboarding (first 120 days), Inclusion & Diversity, and Talent.

 

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of Australian Employment Law
  • Previous experience in a similar or related role (5+ years)
  • Strategic thinker. Able to provide strategic advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems.
  • Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal and external networks.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills. Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking.
  • Skilled and credible in advising others on empowering people management.
  • Proven ability to secure and analyse a range of quantitative and qualitative information and use this in developing strategies, plans, policies and solutions that meet individual and organisational needs.
  • Clear, concise and influential written communication skills.
  • Resilient, creative, resourceful, and pragmatic with a positive ‘can do’ and solution-focused attitude.

Join a leading HR group consulting with management and employees on HR practices and procedures. Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations in support of corporate ethics and values. Participate in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., manpower planning, salary/bonus/stock review, organizational change, performance management, and training assessment).

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving. Ability to travel. 5 years generalist experience and BA/BS degree. Experience in an HR specialty a plus.
