Hays has partnered with Charles Darwin University to recruit for a VET Lecturer - Construction to work in their Alice Springs campus on a permanent full time basis

Your new role
Working within the School of Trade, this role will see you employed with the Northern Territories only University to provide nationally accredited training to apprentices and trainees, pre-apprentice students as well as the provision of training to existing and qualified workers.

You will be responsible for delivering training in accordance to the Australian Skills Quality standards (ASQA) and the CDU VET quality framework.

This exciting role will see you facilitate competency based training utilising both face to face, classroom, workplace and online platforms. You will establish and maintain an engaged learning environment working with students and guiding them through their learning cycle. You will develop and deliver a range of teaching strategies and present as a leader within the faculty and continue to grow CDU’s reputation as a VET education provider.

Travel to remote areas of the NT will be required in this role

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will firstly have current Trade Qualifications in carpentry. You will also have your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or have the ability to gain this qualification within an agreed time-frame. Most importantly, you will have a passion for teaching and mentoring others and keen to transfer your experience and trade to Vocational students.

Competent computer processing skills and ability to follow ASQA standards which involves report generation, data entry and utilising university software systems is essential
