We are building a team of strategic HR professionals to provide outstanding, client focused, proactive and effective solutions and services for all UQ staff that enable the achievement of the University’s strategic ambitions.

With a commitment to stakeholder engagement and relationship management, the University’s HR function provides high quality resource management guidance and expertise, through effective policy development, practical advice, and efficient organisational services.

The role

Reporting to the Faculty’s HR Business Partner, the HR Advisor is responsible for the timely provision of front line policy and procedural advice and support on all aspects of HRM to all stakeholders within a defined client group, comprising of academics and professional staff.

You will be the conduit between your clients, HR Professional Services Team, and the centres of expertise, building and maintaining strong working relationships, acting as the trusted advisor, in the delivery of high quality, well aligned and reliable services.

Contributing to the development of client focused operational planning and projects, you will ensure that plans are aligned to current and future business objectives, and are actioned in line with University policy and procedural necessities.

Your commitment to service excellence is demonstrated in every interaction with your clients, peers and the broader HR community.

The person

You will possess tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline, with relevant HR advisory experience – particularly recruitment and performance management practices - in a dynamic, multifaceted working environment.

A proven track record in HR advisory is essential, as well as superior stakeholder relationship and management experience.  Your strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills will ensure the delivery of robust policy advice, and enable implementation of key HR initiatives.

Remuneration

This is a continuing appointment at HEW Level 6 either full-time or part-time for 4 days per week. The full-time remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07 – $79,964.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822.27 – $93,558.47 p.a.). Part-time remuneration will be pro-rata.
