Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely advice to managers and employees across the full range of generalist HR/people issues for HWNS/The Tipping Foundation and ensure HR practices are compliant with relevant legislative requirements.

As an experienced HR Manager, you will have a professional and personable approach with 5+ years experience working in a fast-paced and complex environment. Your HR management expertise will encompass HR functions such as recruitment, talent attraction and retention, IR and workplace change, employee relations, remuneration and benefits, and injury management. You will also have experience working with a highly unionised workforce.

Integral to your success will be your customer focused people practices and your ability to role modelour organisational values.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Ensure HR practices are compliant with relevant legislative requirements and organisational values.
  • Proactively manage HR functions; recruitment and selection, employee onboarding, performance management, injury management, health and safety, employee relations, reward and recognition, retention and talent identification, learning and development, HR Administration and reporting.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to managers and employees across the full range of generalist HR/people issues.
  • Minimise length and organisational impact of workers compensation claims through effective return to work/injury management processes.
  • Effectively lead and develop a team of HR professionals.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders.

Essential requirements of the role:

  • Degree qualified in Human Resource Management or similar field.
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop employees.
  • High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including demonstrated skills in consultation, facilitation, negotiation.
  • High level written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience and success in managing change.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment and public policy of the disability sector desirable.
