The Role

Due to the continued growth the Group are seeking to employ a person to be part of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Department, as WHS Contractor Compliance Coordinator to provide unbeatable customer service to the Group’s business units. Reporting to the Work Health Safety Manager. Purpose of the role’s is to assist the business units in the Contractor Engagement process, so that they can qualify as an active and available (preferred) contractor so business units can engage them on site. Once a contractor is available the WHS Contractor Compliance Coordinator will then liaise, communicate and influence these trades and suppliers (subcontractors) to achieve and maintain the Group’s Compliance Standards as relating to WHS and other documentation requirements.

A key attribute in this role is to communicate, consult and assist the relevant State WHS Manager/s to review, implement and maintain our Compliance Standards across the group.

 The role requires an individual who: -

• Is focused driven, by being able to prioritise work through good organisational skills.
• Will work in a team environment to ensure our customers’ expectations are met
• Has excellent communication & influencing skills to work with internal business staff and external subcontractors to achieve the required results.
• Has attention to detail & accuracy of recording information in data management systems, in a fast-paced high-volume work environment.

Travel may also be required occasionally to meet and assist the respective WHS Managers in presenting to our suppliers and trades at business units in Sydney, ACT and Tasmania.

Comprehensive training & support will be provided.

The Person

You may be a person who is looking to get into WHS or someone who wishes to extend their existing WHS experience in a company that is committed to Safety. 

To be successful in this role it is essential that you can demonstrate:

• Strong customer service focus.
• High organisational & administration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating difficult concepts in a simple manner.
• Good MS Office Skills for Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Experience in using On Site Companion database or similar system.
• High interpersonal skills, including influencing others to ensure compliance
• Strong attention to detail and accurate reporting and data input capabilities

It would be favourable but not essential you may have any of the following:

• Have experience in a similar role relating to WHS contractor management
• Have an awareness of the WHS challenges to contractors.
• Have experience in the residential construction Industry
• Hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
