About CPBJH JV

CPBJH JV brings together two of Australia's leading construction partners, CPB Contractors and John Holland, with unparalleled expertise in large-scale and complex project management, civil construction, traffic management and tunnelling. 

The West Gate Tunnel is a partnership between the Victorian Government and Transurban. The Joint Venture has been chosen as the preferred contractor for construction, which began in 2018 following planning assessment. 

About the Project

The West Gate Tunnel Project is a city-shaping project that will deliver a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge, provide quicker and safer journeys, and remove thousands of trucks off residential streets. The project will include:

  • Widening the West Gate Freeway from eight lanes to 12 between the M80 Ring Road and Williamstown Road;
  • Building a 2.8km eastbound tunnel and a 4km westbound tunnel under Yarraville;
  • Constructing a bridge over the Maribyrnong River providing an alternative to the West Gate Bridge;
  • Constructing an elevated road along Footscray Road to the Port of Melbourne; and
  • Major new cycling and pedestrian paths. 

A Bit about the Role

We are looking for an energetic, confident & resilient HR professional with a flexible style, who works quickly and efficiently to achieve results. This role has a strong systems/reporting focus.

Typical skills and responsibilities

  • Collate data from the wider team to design HR reports and analyse the data before submission to the HR & IR Director;
  • Regular reporting and analysis of employee data from several sources and systems;
  • Provide administrative support to the HR & IR Director including calendar management and meeting coordination as required;
  • Generalist HR support, acting as the first point of contact for Project wide HR queries;
  • Supporting the HR Manager to ensure HR policies and processes are understood and current;
  • HR administration and coordination across all employee activities;
  • Management of project organisational charts;
  • Provide support to the broader HR team on any ad hoc requests.

Qualifications         

Appropriate HR or related qualifications are desired but not essential.

Background

  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint is essential, Indesign highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in HR/Payroll systems, including Chris 21 and Oracle will be highly regarded.
  • Experience working on infrastructure projects is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience developing and collating HR reports will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent attention to detail with basic knowledge of Australian employment legislation and awareness of compliance requirements is desired but not essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously and without supervision, often with competing priorities and interests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
