Waverley Industries is a leading 'Not for Profit' Organisation and is the largest Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) in Victoria. We currently provide Supported Employment for 345 adults with Disabilities and Special needs across our 3 sites in Victoria located at Notting Hill, Hallam and Dandenong South.

We specialise in packaging, assembly, manufacturing, woodwork, gardening and catering solutions to our large client base.

The Role 

We are currently seeking a new Quality Assurance / OH&S Officer to join our HR Department. This is a full time role that will be based at our Hallam and Dandenong site.

This is hands on operational role to ensure registration to ISO 9001:2015 and Hazard Analyse Critical Control Point are maintained at our Hallam and Dandenong sites and that the Quality Requirements of our Customers are met. Quality Assurance/OH&S Officer will also be responsible for working and delivering projects with our external IT Service Provider whilst maintaining our IT Risk Management Plan. 

The incumbent will be required to undertake training, attend staff and managers’ meetings as required and provide reports as requested. On occasions the incumbent will be required to attend work related activities outside of the normal working hours. 

Job tasks and responsibilities  

• Scheduling OH&S meetings, preparing agenda, recording meeting minutes and following up on actions as required
• Working alongside management and staff to ensure that all OH&S legislation is adhered to
• Recording all accidents,near misses and OH&S issues
• Creating corrective actions for continual improvements in areas of QA and OH&S 
• Supervise and oversee compliance to ISO 9001:2015 and the National Standards for Disability Services (where required) with assistance from the Senior QA / OHS Officer
• Liaising with external auditors to ensure WI maintains registration to our certifications
• Conducting audits as scheduled within the audit diary and reporting findings at the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
• Work with all managers and support staff to conduct random daily QA checks on all jobs that are in progress in all departments across the company.
• Ensuring that emergency evacuation procedures are maintained and up to date at all times
• Ensuring the relevant risk assessments are conducted on all machinery
• Conducting IT Inductions during HR induction processes 
• Managing WI social media releases/Website Updates 
• Maintaining relationships with Premier IT in relation to network/system/software and security updates. 

Skills and experience 

• Previous experience in a QA role (2 years minimum)
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Great time management and organisational skills
• Applicant must be process driven 
• Internal Auditor accredited (preferred)
