About Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre

The Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre has been continually managed by GEO on behalf of Queensland Corrective Services since its opening in 1992. Located in Wacol, just 20 kilometres south-west of Brisbane, Arthur Gorrie is Queensland's largest correctional centre, safely and securely housing over 1,000 adult male remand prisoners for the period leading up to, and during, their trial.

 

About the Opportunity

As the Human Resources Officer at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre you will provide assistance to the Human Resources Manager and employees.

Working with a supportive Human Resources team this role is generalist in nature, encompassing all facets of Human Resources. 

Duties for the successful applicant will include:

  • Coordinating the end to end recruitment process;
  • Maintaining databases and spreadsheets;
  • Handling employee enquiries;
  • Preparation of confidential documentation;
  • Support for our payroll and roster functions; and
  • General administrative activities.

This role requires a high level of organisation, interpersonal and communication skills, with the successful candidate having at least 12 months experience in a Human Resources generalist role. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management and/or Business are highly desirable and a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.

We require a mature minded, decisive individual who has a commitment to best practice and a proactive approach to enable continuous improvement.
