What you'll do:

As a Reporter at Leader, you'll work on a range of stories for Melbourne's award-winning community newspaper group Leader Community News. You'll create accurate, informed and reader centric content of the highest quality, working Monday-Friday. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for an experienced reporter to join a supportive and vibrant newsroom. The successful candidate will report on a range of stories important to the local community including news, lifestyle and sport. Part of a large, dynamic team, you will source and write compelling and engaging content for both print and digital platforms.

Who you are:

You need to be a team player who can work collegially, yet also independently. You will live and breathe community news, displaying the utmost passion for creating the highest quality content on a consistent basis. You must have initiative and an energetic and confident demeanour. As a talented self-starter, you will maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management, and be committed to your assignments and deadlines. You will be comfortable filing stories for online platforms and promoting news through social media channels. We are after someone with an inquiring mind, relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum 2-3 years mainstream news experience with a portfolio of published work that speaks for itself.
