About the role:

The Senior Communications Advisor (Videographer/Photographer) will join the Proactive Online Communications Unit. This unit is responsible for the delivery of campaigns and community engagement content through a variety of online channels to support department and broader organisational objectives. In addition to producing campaigns, the unit also manages the Eyewatch program which consists of 54 locally targeted Facebook pages, administrated by police across the state, delivering community focused content to build a greater connection between police and their local communities.

The Senior Communications Advisor (Videographer/Photographer) will be responsible for scheduling, filming and editing both videography and photography projects to assist in the delivery of campaigns and key messaging for the organisation to drive community awareness and engagement.  The successful candidate will be able to identify creative medium opportunities and stay current with emerging trends to ensure Victoria Police messaging can effectively navigate the evolving digital media landscape.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing the production and post-production of videography and photography projects
  • Providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders for video and stills initiatives that support Victoria Police's strategic direction and brand
  • In conjunction with other areas across the Media and Corporate Communications Department (MCCD), contribute to co-ordinated, timely content in response to a range of issues
  • Managing databases of video and stills
  • Managing and maintaining all video and stills equipment
  • Providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or other relevant discipline or experience
  • Proficient skills in filming and editing video content using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
  • Proficient skills in high end stills photography for in-house publications and social media
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with the ability to communicate with influence and clarity
  • Display personal drive, integrity and confidence

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa
  • Some travel interstate and intrastate may be required; therefore a current driver's licence is desirable
