The Anaplan Developer will be responsible for implementing enhancements and functionality to support the optimisation and enhanced efficiency of processes across the business including but not limited to ensuring consistency (where appropriate) of use by the business, enhancing usability and ensuring ongoing optimisation of the Anaplan solution. Anaplan is the key Budgeting and Forecasting solution adopted across GPT and is key to ensuring accurate and timely projections of financial and operating metrics for The GPT Group, Funds and Assets.

The primary focus of the role is as a technical expert of the Anaplan solution, working closely with stakeholders to deliver new functionality and improvements to the Anaplan Models and ensure the platform is effectively operational and stable for business users. This may include  assisting users with queries, development of reports, dashboards and calculations, enhancing existing models or creating new models as required and assisting users with understanding technical aspects of Anaplan, including calculations.

A customer focus and ability to analyse information quickly and accurately is key to success in this role. You will be required to build strong relationships with the Asset Finance, Asset Teams, Group Finance, Treasury & Planning, and the Technology team to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities include –

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Anaplan application including keeping up to date with relevant platform enhancements and changes;
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements for system enhancements and changes. Act as technical advisor, whilst improving your business knowledge to achieve optimal solution outcomes;
• Execute the implementation of  new developments to the model and model components (modules, lists, actions etc.) in line with functional and usability requirements, and the latest Anaplan releases;
• Execute regular maintenance activities within the model which may include but is not limited to data cleansing as required to minimise model size for example removing data which is past its effective usefulness date, import and exports of data to assist with reporting and analysis/diagnosis of issues;
• Maintain oversight of own administrative tasks and actions, including (but not limited to) the responding to and managing of support tickets in line with defined service level agreements;
• Assist with the deployment process (currently fortnightly), checking for unexpected variances or issues in line with the relevant model governance structures;
• Assist the Anaplan Systems Accountant with the preparation of communications to business users including deployment updates, user guides, guides for additional or new functionality, and hint & tips cheat sheets;
• Assist users with queries and training requirements on an ongoing basis;
• Monitor and adhere to model governance structures to ensure stability of the model and limit any unexpected outcomes and disruptions to business users including ensuring that any key changes to Anaplan receive appropriate senior management approval;
• Working closely with the Systems Integration Specialist, maintain a thorough understanding of how Anaplan interacts with other key systems in the Group (eg CTI, HFM, SAP, Salesforce) and the ability to identify and rectify any issues identified;
• Ensuring key processes and functionality within the Anaplan model are appropriately documented.
• Ensuring consistency of the use of Anaplan across the Group;
• Ensuring Anaplan is used efficiently for the forecasting and month-end processes;
• Identifying and provide recommendations for further areas to improve the forecasting, and month-end processes across the group;
• Identification of efficiency improvements required to ensure the model performance is optimal and in line with best practice standards;

Experience and Qualifications

Mandatory

• 1 year hands on Anaplan development experience
• Strong Excel knowledge and experience with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for Excel
• A comprehensive analytical skill set with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to understand customers’ needs and work collaboratively with the business to deliver best practice standards
• Ability to multi-task, plan and manage tight deadlines
• Degree (Bachelor of  Technology or equivalent)
• Strong relationship building, communication and analytical skills
• Ability to proactively follow tasks through to completion.

Desirable

• A willingness to increase your knowledge of key financial technology platforms including Anaplan
• Previous experience within the Real Estate Industry
• Previous experience with HFM & SAP
