The Role
You will own the end-to-end tech strategy from architecture to UAT. You will be solving problems and coding across the full-stack yourself. You have a proven record building high performing tech stacks and teams, and scaling products that make a real-world impact. As we grow you will be leading a tight, high-performing team of engineers and data scientists. Potential for equity for the right candidate.
The Key Responsibilities
• Developing and improving the Company’s products in line with the Company’s priorities
• Leading and managing the technical development and architecture of all the Company’s products
• Building a best in class technical and data team, aligned on the Company values
• Keeping informed and taking an active interest in the Company’s industry and new technology developments
• Developing and delivering on strategies that will increase the Company’s revenue and profit including vendor management
• Leading a culture of user-centred product development
• Ensuring that our products and services are compliant with applicable data privacy laws particularly age group and country specific
• Attending board meetings of the Company
• Abiding by any statutory, fiduciary and common law duties to the Company, in particular the duties imposed on directors under the Corporations Act
• Serving the Company faithfully and diligently to the best of his ability and use all reasonable efforts to promote the best interests of the Company
The Requirements
• 10+ years hands-on Senior / Lead software development experience with the following:
• Multi platform native and web browser based SaaS product development
• Integration / synchronization with internal and external data sources
• MS SQL Server or equivalent database (modeling, query, stored procedures, and trigger development, administration)
• NoSQL / Graph / Network databases
• REST API development and utilization
• JavaScript, Vue framework
• Development of or integration with LMS, SIS, or Assessment tools for primary, secondary or tertiary education
• 5+ years experience managing development team, freelancers and creatives
• Experience with identifying, negotiating, contracting, liaising, and integrating 3rd party technical products / services / components
• Experience with identifying, negotiating, contracting, liaising, and implementing product / service with key customers
• Experience creating and provisioning SaaS for challenging customer archetypes
• Experience leading development of mass market, kid friendly software applications
• Experience creating and managing online communities for educators and students
• Full-stack development capability, with focus on efficiency and scale, server-less SPA preferred
• Uses gamification / badging for engagement and retention or gamification for educational tasks
• Tertiary qualifications in computer sciences, software engineering or similar disciplines
Eligibility
Must hold or immediately qualify for Working With Children Check as well as a satisfactory National Police Check.
