Due to business demands, we have an exciting newly created opportunity to join our Projects Team as a Technical Project Manager. This is a 12-month fixed term contract role working full-time hours, based in Sydney CBD.

About the Role

The Project Manager will work with business unit leaders and cross-functional team members to ensure that technology projects are planned, managed and delivered through all phases of the project life cycle, and deliver the required business outcomes.

  • Testing, implementation and post implementation

  • Managing performance expectations
  • Manage projects through all stages, from developing initial concepts to project closure.
  • Manage all elements of projects – including scope, resources, risks and issues – to meet budget, scope and quality objectives, and to deliver the required business benefits.
  • Plan and manage the business change associated with technology projects, working with business stakeholders to understand business processes and objectives.
  • Work with technical resources to develop solutions which deliver user satisfaction, business improvements, and ensure technical compatibility with the IT environment.
  • Prepare and manage the documentation of business and technical requirements; Estimate project budget, resources and timelines; Prepare business cases to obtain project and budget approval.
  • Actively engage with a range of stakeholders including business users, senior managers, service providers, vendors and technology partners, building buy-in to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present a project-related communications and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage the full range of project documentation.

What are we looking for

  • Aptitude for understanding business objectives and processes, to ensure projects deliver the expected benefits.
  • Strong experience in project management and associated methodologies. AGILE and or Prince2 certification preferred. This should include:
    • Managing estimates, schedules and work plans
    • Managing business change, including the creation and delivery of change management, communications management and training plans.
    • Managing all elements of the Project lifecycle, such as project definition, business case approval, budget submission and management, project team roles and governance, project quality, risks and issues, post-implementation reviews, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills in managing application development projects
  • Tertiary qualified in Project Management, or with relevant applied industry experience
  • Ability to drive consensus amongst diverse business stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment
