About the role

We are looking for a Manager Development Operations to deliver prompt and agile solutions across our mining products including cloud / mobility and applications. The role will drive automation in everything we touch / do.  This team will also be a highly tuned team to resolve and fix issues our customers may be experiencing.

Great opportunity to join a team focused on our core APAC West Mining Assets, this new role will bring the culture and outcomes of a DevOps team to our APAC West customer. Reporting to the General Manager - APAC West Operate, you will:

• Lead, manage and develop the DevOps operations to ensure alignment with APAC West customers including managing the lifecycle of DevOps through code, build, test, package, release, configure and monitor.
• Establish a team /culture of DevOps across APAC West.
• Automation of infrastructure / cloud components in a 24x7 production environment
• Delivery of Mining mobile applications and appropriate support.
• Accountable for Application Performance, End user analytics, code, and error checking.
• Accountable for Application availability, End user feedback resolution, and performance analytics.
• Act as a “tiger team” for quick resolution of issues.
• Manage and maintain the DevOps environments to a high degree of automation on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure connection to APAC West assets with appropriate travel (monthly at a minimum) to understand key challenges / bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement in the mining value chain.
• Ensure alignment and focus on delivering a stable / resilient Mining / Production toolsets / Applications for / to / with the APAC West assets. 
• Working with General Manager - Operate to set strategic direction / priorities for the DevOps team.
• Bring together the development and innovation ideas with a production 24 x7 mindset. 
• Provide leadership to team in articulating how their role supports the customer / Hub Model / biggerpicture and manage and correct where misaligned.    
• Builds and maintains the relationship with key vendor partners.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Knowledge of cloud / mobility / application automation
• Ability to understand coding / scripting 
• Proven track record in the support and improvement of automated and scalable continuous delivery platform for the deployment of cloud and hybrid services
• Ability to manage and drive outcomes through others
• Detailed knowledge and experience of DevOps and its application to enterprise environment such as designing, building and deploying infrastructure (AWS highly desirable) and APIs, including VPC and IAM, Automation of configuration, Cloud orchestration tools to establish and monitor systems.
• Strong understanding of delivering automation to technologies 
• Strong focus on business outcomes
• Knowledge and experience on database technologies. 
• An understanding of business functions to analyse and propose technical strategies for the business
• Excellent formal communication and interpersonal skills.
• You must be passionate and an advocate of all things DevOps / Automation and cloud related. 
• Ability to think of new ways to work including processes / vendor alignment across DevOps.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
