THE PROJECT
Join us in developing the next generation of multimedia codecs that can stream audio over a diverse range of wired and wireless transports. Our new platform is multi-processor using high performance DSP and ARM/Atom processors with a component-based software architecture. Our product relies on hard real-time constraints to ensure minimal end-to-end delay and combines a number of technologies to provide a rare and unique opportunity in the multimedia space.
THE JOB
As part of the embedded software team you will be responsible for developing new features that push Tieline's products to be the new benchmark in audio distribution. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing code base, including bug fixing and feature enhancement. Perform real-time multimedia software development on wired and wireless IP networks. Push your skills to the limit in designing and implementing solutions that meet rigid performance, availability, security, and quality constraints.
THE APPLICANT
We are looking for a talented Linux developer who is up-to-date with Linux and the world of open source. You are comfortable developing Linux applications and scripting solutions. You have excellent C and C++ skills. You must be comfortable working as part of a team and working with autonomy on large projects.
The right candidates will possess the following:
Essential:
• 2+ years Linux experience
• Excellent C and C++ skills
• Experience with threading and synchronisation
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Degree qualifications
• Experience with software development processes
• Highly motivated team player
Desirable:
• Embedded Linux development, both kernel and packages
• DSP development
• Linux real time extensions
• Media Streaming
• Qt & D-Bus
