We are currently working on behalf of a client based in Adelaide that is searching for an experienced ICT Engineer with extensive experience of providing software and hardware support in Defence environments.
The successful applicant will be involved in complex project planning including engineering lifecycle elements of bid responses, analysing and designing ICT, network and communications systems, and implementing ICT system solutions supporting both Windows and Unix environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the implementation and support of Windows and Unix based computer systems.
- Knowledge of Database technologies such as Sybase, SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, RHEV and HyperV
- Experience in network troubleshooting including, switching, routing, firewalls, VPN and network security.
- Familiarity with a range of ICT tools and products including Microsoft Office suite, JIRA and SharePoint
- Knowledge of gateway system architecture and network protocols, systems and architectures
- Working knowledge of a range of Email and internet technologies including SMTP, POP3, IMAP, HTTP, SSL and XML
- Scripting and programming languages appropriate for current and future projects
- Proven skills in fault finding issues within third-party software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deliver excellent customer service
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Tertiary degree or qualifications in ICT or Electrical Engineering
- Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia, will be highly regarded
