My federal government client is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to administer, maintain and develop future upgrades to the Linux infrastructure.

The work performed will consist of:

• Building new SOE and supporting transition of applications to it where possible
• Deploy updates to Linux SOEs
• Support configuration changes to Linux SOE to support new projects/application that are to be deployed on the Linux SOE.

Skills and experience required: 

• Experience managing Enterprise Linux servers in virtualized environments
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
• Strong experience with Spacewalk
• Strong grasp on configuration management and deployment tools, including Puppet and Ansible
• Familiarity with version control, such as git
• Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, iptables, etc.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with good attention to detailing enterprise Linux infrastructure to meet business requirements

Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement, Baseline security clearance is an advantage.
