This large NSW Government agency is located centrally in Parramatta. They have had an influx of project work to kick off the new financial year, and are looking to add a SQL Database Administrator to their IT project team. The aim of the role is to assist in upgrading and continually refreshing the SQL database assets to ensure ongoing operational stability and currency, with minimal disruption to business and working within the change management process.
The Role:
As a SQL Database Administrator, you will:
- Be responsible for the refresh of hundreds of SQL Server databases
- Migrate applications and data from legacy SQL Servers and operating systems to strategic platforms
- Work with technology support and applications teams to coordinate migrations
- Evaluate suitability of Cloud Hosting options for SQL databases
- Drive the implementation of technical solutions
- Liaise across all areas and varying levels of the organisation
This is an initial contract until 30th June 2019, with a potential to extend
Skills and Experience:
As an experienced SQL Database Administrator, you will have:
- 3+ years of experience in SQL Database Administration
- An MCSA: SQL Server certification
- Demonstrated experience in SQL Server technologies
- Experience in migrating databases and data from legacy platforms to new platforms
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies specifically in relation of database hosting
- Knowledge of Storage (SAN, NAS and backup) technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Although not required, An MCSM: SQL Server certification is desirable
