The RBA’s Information Technology department anchors the RBA's strategic responsibilities and is the core provider of technology facilities, services and support to the organisation. 

This role will provide specialised skills for the design and implementation of technology solutions to meet the Policy and Markets Departments' business requirements and to ensure that these are aligned with the Bank's enterprise architecture and standards.

About the role:

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify their current and potential requirements.
  • Specify and design end to end solutions considering the architecture for systems, data management, infrastructure, integration, network and security to meet the Policy and Markets Departments' business requirements, and to support the strategic change programs undertaken by the Bank
  • Select appropriate solution design standards, methods and tools, in line with the IT architecture policy and strategy. Review existing system designs to ensure a selection of technology and solution architectures are applied effectively.
  • Select appropriate use of technology both new and existing, to best serve the business needs and minimise future support requirements.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects and technical teams to identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, recommend new approaches and contribute to the IT roadmap.
  • Evaluate and undertake impact analysis of major design options, while assessing and managing associated risks. Ensure that the solution design balances functional, service quality and system management requirements.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Graduate qualifications relevant to the banking or IT industries and previous experience in solution architecture design.
  • Understanding of industry trends, technologies and best practices and - Relevant IT accreditations or certifications, particularly architecture related.
  • Strong understanding in relational data structures, data warehousing concepts and practices.
  • Experience in management of database and repository design, infrastructure, integration, network and information security.
  • Advance knowledge of application development framework, architecture and design standards for .NET based applications.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.

Employment will be offered under a fixed term employment arrangement, initially for 12 months.
