YMCA Australia is a not-for-profit organisation consisting of 18 member associations, each supporting their local communities. These associations provide childcare services, health centres (predominantly gym and other recreational programs) and camping programs to over 20 million participants each year.

The YMCA’s continued growth has demonstrated the need for greater collaboration between the member associations and as such has led to the development of the “Towards One Y” transformation journey, which amongst other objectives attempts to consolidate our 3rd party procurement under a national YMCA banner.

As part of this program of work we are requiring short term support from an IT project manager with a solid track record in in coordinating national 3rd party software platform implementations in the not for profit environment. Apart from basic technical expertise (a background in POS systems and payment platforms would be desirable), the IT Project Manager will need to hold internal and external stakeholders accountable for the transition to a SaaS environment as set out in a jointly defined transition plan. Working together with the newly established Procurement Function, the IT Project Manager will also be tasked to ensure minimum spend leakage against the negotiated 3rd party commercial arrangement.

Whilst this role is based on a short-term need, strong performing applicants with an interest in moving into a role within the newly formed Y Services entity would be considered for current vacancies. Strong coordination, planning and communication skills are essential to be successful.

Performance Goals

• Create & manage project plans in collaboration with key stakeholders and supply partners
• Define project milestones, allocate resources and monitor progress coordinating with up to 18 associations and with supply partners
• Help project team with the design and development tasks
• Lead process of issue identification and resolution
• Manage risk tracking process
• Monitor and manage scope
• Lead contract development with supply partners post sourcing activities
• Manage all documentation
• Foster partnership with individual associations and supply partners

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Experience & Essential Knowledge

• Minimum 5 years relevant IT project implementation experience
• Experience of supplier/vendor management including contract development
• Experience in Australia preferred
• Fluent in English (both written and verbal)

Entry Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor degree qualification in a IT/commercial/business/finance and/or technical discipline

Conditions of Employment

Employment Status: 3 month fixed term contract

Daily Rate: $900-$1,100
