Austek Play are a commercial playground company, specialising in providing fun, innovative and interactive playground and outdoor recreation designs to Schools, Councils, Resorts & Community organisations. Due to internal growth, an opportunity has arisen for a part-time Junior / Cadet 3D Designer to join the team in our Brisbane Head Office.

Assisting the Senior Designer, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing customised 2D concepts to accurate scale, using AutoCAD drafting software
  • Realising the concepts as 3D renders, with the use of 3DSMax
  • Finalising playground presentations with the use of Adobe InDesign

Essential Requirements

  • Must be computer literate with a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated experience in modelling and rendering using 3DSMax
  • Ability to use Photoshop
  • Highly developed professional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
  • Strong organization and prioritisation skills
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently

Non-Essential Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the Forest Pack Pro, RailClone and VRAY plugins for 3DSMax
  • Understanding of technical drawing requirements and maintaining correct scales
  • Completed or working toward Tertiary and/or Industrial Design qualifications preferred but not essential

Provided with ongoing training and mentoring, this position will provide the successful candidate real life experience and the opportunity to work within a well-rounded and experienced team. This is a permanent part-time position offering 2-3 days per week (days can be negotiated to suit), with the possibility of eventuating into a full-time role.
