About us:

The Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors is a private Registered Training Organisation and Higher Education provider specialising in the delivery of external education programs in counselling, community services, financial counselling, youth work, relationship counselling and various business courses.

About the role:

Reporting to the Sydney Branch Manager and based at institute's campus in Parramatta NSW, this position plays an important role in the team and is responsible for performing general administration and reception functions. This busy and varied position has both an admin & customer service focus.

This is a permanent full-time position (with 6 months’ probation). Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

The position commences at General Staff Level 2.1 under the Educational Services Award 2010 (currently $43,710.45/annum + 9.50 superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading).

Duties and Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls & providing information or directing calls to appropriate staff members;
  • Providing course information over the phone, in person or via email;
  • Maintaining computerised student records as required e.g. entering and updating student information, entering assessment results, and logging communications;
  • Attending expo and other networking events when required and
  • Supporting admin team and general office duties as directed

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Outstanding customer service ethic
  • Well-developed communications skills and a pleasant disposition and polite telephone manner
  • Experience in using word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • The ability to prioritise work, initiative and good time management skills
  • Desirable experience in using JobReady and ACT (or similar program).
