As a Site Administration and Document Controller within AECOM Construction Services, your role will be to contribute to the successful delivery and profitability of our services across a variety of civil engineering and construction projects.

This will be a 2-year fixed-term role for a site-based and proven Document Controller within the Construction industry. The key purpose for the Document Controller will be to manage the registration and distribution of documents, reports, audits and project data through the efficient use of project management software.

The Role

The successful Site Document Controller will be engaged on a 2-year fixed-term contract to begin with and a view to extend or further work within AECOM depending on future project timelines and success.

This will be a fast-paced and autonomous role to provide document control and administration services for a number of related civil construction sites, working directly with our client and Construction Verification team. Records will include, but not be limited to, diary management, photographs (dated), video recordings, contractors resource utilisation and surveillance reports in approved formatting.

A Site Document Controller will be required to keep records current and available for review to a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups, alongside managing records of contract departures and work health and safety matters. Therefore an ability to multi task and reman organised in a civil construction site environment is essential.

Responsibilities

Generally, some of the responsibilities of the Site Document Controller will be:

  • Provide document control services across a number of related projects on site
  • Recordkeeping across; diaries, photograph updates, video records logging contractor resource utilisation, health and safety matters
  • Establish and implement processes to perform a controlled distribution of project documents in accordance with client requirements
  • Controlling documented drawings and files in relation to key civil construction projects
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in relation to document control and competence systems to ensure fit-for-purpose and efficient processes are used
  • Provide project support services to support the efficient working of the teams
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a high performance, harmonious and cohesive team by providing customer focused services
  • Coordinate and assist during internal project audit activities.

About You

You will ideally possess some or all of the following:

  • An interest in site-based construction roles and an ability to work flexibly in such environments
  • Previous Construction Document controller experience dealing with Request for Information, contractor documents etc.
  • Experience working on civil construction sites
  • Substantial experience in relation to document and data management systems like Team binder, Aconex, Objective and Objective Connect in civil construction environments
  • High level ability in coordinating and maintaining a document management system, including developing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong ability in problem solving, time management and organisational skills with the use of Excel and other software
  • Substantial written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
