Our client is an industry leader in medical aids throughout the Western QLD region who sell, repair, hire and service a wide range of mobility aids for organisations, aged care and individuals with short, medium and long term disabilities. They are looking for an experienced, hands-on customer focused Administration and Sales Assistant to join their Toowoomba based team on a permanent basis.

Offering a variety of tasks, this position encompasses both administration and sales duties. As the first point of contact, both over the phone and in the retail outlet, your customer service skills, attention to detail, flexibility and mature outlook on life, will help you assist the team in overseeing the smooth operation of the business as you:

  • Meet, greet and assist customers and clients
  • Answer telephone enquiries
  • Attend to sales duties
  • Receive and dispatch stock
  • Work with DVA (Department of Veterans Affairs) and MASS (Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme)
  • Attend to general bookkeeping duties
  • General administration and various office responsibilities
  • Assist with the annual stocktake

To be successful in this role you will bring to the team your:

  • Friendly disposition and fabulous customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation ability
  • A strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge with a POS System
  • Can-do' attitude to getting the job done
  • Desire to work in a small family business
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Previous experience with MYOB or similar accounting package
  • General knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  • Ability to develop and utilise product knowledge
