This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to kick start their business career with Hydro Tasmania. As the Trainee Programme Officer you will contribute to the achievement of the strategic direction of our Assets and Infrastructure business unit.

You will play a key role in the successful delivery of our 10 year asset management plan through the management, coordination and reporting of the portfolio. In addition you will assist the Programme Manager and Project Management Office (PMO) team in the coordination and improvement of the PMO management, information and processes.

As this is a Trainee position within our organisation we will actively support you to develop business acumen and project management skills with a long term goal to develop within the PMO team. You will undertake further studies which will complement your role and allow you to further progress you career with Hydro Tasmania.

To be considered for this role:

This is an ideal role for a self-motivated individual who is looking to develop a successful career within a well-established organisation. You will show a willingness to acquire knowledge of business policies, administration, systems and procedures. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ideally a background in customer service you will have the ability to build strong relationships with your co-workers.

With experience using the Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word and Excel, you will have the ability to quickly develop your skills in this area and show attention to detail and accuracy in your work. You will have excellent time management skills; have the ability to prioritise and schedule your work and the proven ability to use your initiative.

Given the type of work this role will involve, a passion for numbers and a desire to build your skills within finance will be seen as highly advantageous. At a minimum you will hold your TCE qualification.
