What we are looking for?
ACARES is looking for passionate and committed Disability Support Workers to join our organisation. We are keen to speak to people that are interested in establishing a career within the dynamic disability sector.
We have a great opportunity to support our clients to live within their own home and in the community. You will support our client to increase their daily living skills, life skills, social skills and assist with educational and developmental milestones.
The role will be to support the clients therapists to achieve the goals set out for them by following the guidelines of the support plans and skill building activities. You will work one on one with the client to assist with skill building whilst developing a rapport and supporting the client with all general day to day skills.
Your previous experience working with children with Autism and your understanding and experience of skill building will be highly regarded.
Regular ongoing shifts are available.
Mandatory requirements:
*National police check
*Employee working with children check
*Current first aid and CPR certificates
*Previous experience supporting clients in a home and community care setting
Highly desirable:
*Certificate IV Disability or similar
