About Us
In NSW & ACT, four people are diagnosed with diabetes every hour.
Diabetes NSW & ACT is a member-based charity dedicated to people living with, or at risk of, diabetes. We support a growing community of nearly 50,000 members and administer the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) to more than 430,000 people living with diabetes in NSW and the ACT.
Our priority is their health and well being. We support them to better live their lives by challenging public perceptions about diabetes, advocating for people living with the condition, and delivering programs to help them.
The Role
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager as part of a team of 4, the key purpose of your role will be to manage the revenue stream and relationships associated with major donors, trusts and foundations and in-memory donations.
What are the other responsibilities of the role?
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward major donors and to solicit major donations.
- Manage the appropriate stewardship of donors and funders.
- Reporting and acquittals for major donors and trusts and foundations.
- Meeting income targets and monitor and report on income and expenditure.
- Maintaining accurate records of correspondence and history of relationships in our CRM system
About You
- Demonstrated fundraising and marketing experience including the development, implementation and administration of major donor and trusts and foundations programs
- Demonstrated success in generating funds from major donors and grants and making a financial ask
- Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, discretion, effective listening and demonstrated experience in cultivating and maintaining long-term supporter relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication and campaigns to diverse audiences
Please note that this opportunity is for 15 hours per week on a 6 month contract at this stage. We are happy to be flexible on days and times of those hours and work around individual circumstances.
