We are currently seeking to appoint a Case Worker to become a part of our UnitingCare Qld Child and Family Team on a Full time Basis. This Role will predominantly be based out of Emerald and/or Gladstone with regular outreach thoughout the region.
Our Program
The Intensive Family Support services responds to vulnerable families with children and young people (unborn to 18) who are at risk of involvement in the statutory child protection system. Intensive Family Support is a consent based program providing case management for clients who agree to engage with the service. All individuals who identify as being family members of the referred child and consent to engage are eligible for a service. Case managers work collaboratively with families to identify and prioritise their presenting needs and provide intensive support interventions and engagement with specialist services.
The Role:
In this role you will provide a mix of therapeutic and in-home practical care to support complex, vulnerable and often hard to reach families. This role will see you actively engage, assess and develop collaborate case plans to ensure we are prioritising the families presenting concerns intern preparing them to be referred to specialist support services.
About You:
You will have a genuine passion for helping people who are vulnerable with previous experience working with children and families who are at risk of or engaged under the child protection act. Supplementing this you will have tertiary qualification within Human services or related discipline, a driver’s license and a working with children blue card (or the ability to obtain). Previous experience working inclusively with or as a part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community would be highly regarded.
