The IFYS Child Protection Residential Program supports young people between 12 - 17 years of age needing a placement different from family-based care. Our aim is to provide a safe, dependable and nurturing living environment for these young people.

Our Mackay Residential Care Program currently have casual Therapeutic Case Worker positions available for on call work.

The Therapeutic Case Worker role provides casework services and life skill support to young people. The role is integral in assisting young people in their daily living, recreation, learning and community participation.

This is not a role for the faint hearted!

The role involves dealing with challenging and complex behaviors so you will need to have a high level of resilience. A down to earth nature and a good sense of humour are also key to this role, in helping you to quickly relate to the young people in care.

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player,have strong written communication and time management skills and you will have tenacity in spades! It's also essential that you have that fire in your belly that will see you naturally act as an advocate for young people and ensure that services are relevant, flexible and accessible.

IFYS offer formal training and professional supervision. There's also the possibility for this role to lead into permanent part-time work.

We do ask that you are willing to commit to professional training in your own time if you do not have a certificate in a related feild.
