The organisation provides quality home support services to the general community and specialise in the services to the CALDB (culturally and linguistically diverse background) community in the Brisbane and South Coast areas.  The agency has been responding to the individual and daily needs of the aged and people with a disability in the community since 1978 and aims to always provide a service of excellence that is responsive to client's individual circumstances.

You will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting Care Staff for our Brisbane and Gold Coast teams, which includes:

  • advertising
  • selection process
  • preparation of employment agreements
  • staff orientation training
  • staff incentives and performance management
  • conflict resolution
  • troubleshooting
  • communication strategies and supporting care staff in the field
  • other administrative requirements required within the role

In order to be successful in this role you will be exceptionally organised with a high level of attention to detail and have an ability to multi task and prioritise.  As you will be dealing with a large volume of sensitive information, you will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the importance of confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • HR experience in similar industry
  • Previous experience in community services
  • Knowledgeable in industrial relations issues, Fair Work Practices and National Employment Standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Modern Award such as aged care and disability awards
  • Previous experience in changing environment
  • Flexible
  • Affiliations/memberships with Industrial Relations bodies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and under guidance
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
