We are pleased to announce our partnership with Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service in the development of a new purpose built mental health facility in Bundaberg. This new short term residential service will provide alternatives to hospital admission and is for people of Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg and the rural and coastal communities in the Wide Bay area.
We are looking for an innovative and dynamic Team Leader to provide strong leadership to the new team according to the requirements of Mind, coordinate aspects of the operation of the team on a day to day basis, and provide services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice.
As part of the team at Mind you will:
- Work full time, 38 hours per week on a fixed term contract
- Lead and model for staff effective practice in the four main components of their work: working individually with customers; providing support to families and carers; undertaking planning and delivery of group work; and working with local service providers
- Provide direct support to individual customers to enable them to return to their place of residence and a meaningful life through supporting them through a staged approach to recovery, using agreed practice techniques and approaches
- Work in partnership with clinical services and other key stake holders
- Assist client to build networks and support which will help them once they have exited the service
- Casual and part time roles also available
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working within a recovery oriented framework
- A positive attitude to the work
