SydWest Multicultural Services have opportunities for Community Care Workers to join their Aged Care and Disability Services team who provide home care services throughout Western Sydney.

 

This position operates as a member of SydWest Multicultural Services Remote Community Home Care Team. Our Community Care Workers provide a range of basic to complex support services to eligible clients living in the community setting who would otherwise be at risk of premature or inappropriate long-term residential care; our clients include older frail people and younger people with moderate to severe disabilities.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing the very best care and support to clients in line with their personalised care plans.
  • Providing personal care for our clients, including bathing, dressing and grooming
  • Home respite
  • Undertake domestic duties which includes light housework, laundry assistance and meal preparation
  • Provide support duties such as shopping, transport etc.
  • Assistance with activities of daily living
  • Social Support
  • Working as part of the care team, using a holistic approach, to look at every aspect of our residents' care.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the Aged Care and or Disability Sector
  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Disabilities
  • Minimum P2 Driver’s license and access to a fully registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle;
  • Access to personal Smart Phone & Internet Access
  • Proficient use of electronic technology including smart phones, email and internet;
  • Minimum 3 day per week availability & flexibility to work a variety of shifts;
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Australian National Police check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with a broad audience
  • Ability to work autonomously supporting clients living within their own homes
  • An awareness of relevant industry standards
  • Bi-lingual (desirable)
