Duties:
The Financial Counsellor is accountable to the Senior Financial Counsellor and works closely with clients to alleviate or reduce financial duress by:
- Identifying the level, type and nature of social/financial services which are likely to provide positive support and assistance
- Providing case management which includes analysing and assessing financial situations and circumstances
- Providing advocacy and exploring options for individuals/families to become self-sufficient and better able to manage their finances
- Developing appropriate budgeting arrangements and discussing options available
