Aftercare is one of Australia’s longest serving national mental health charities with a proud, 110-year-old history. Employing over 500, Aftercare are a values-driven organisation with over 500 staff in 40 location across Queensland, NSW and Victoria. More than half of their services are in areas transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Reporting to the CEO, this role works closely with the other executive members, national and regional managers having significant exposure to the Aftercare Board in strategy development processes and other projects and reporting roles. Externally, the GM Service Delivery develops and maintains key stakeholder relationships with a wide variety of funders and potential funders, including PHNs, community services and health departments (state and federal) and partners include peak bodies, service deliverers and others.

As a key member of Aftercare’s leadership team, the GM Service Delivery is responsible for championing, leading and delivering outstanding client outcomes with specified service-type and client cohort focus areas. In this role, you will be the national expert leading Aftercare’s services across community-based services including PHaMs, PIR and others, and residential services, in both cases including services under NDIS funding arrangements. Known as a thought leader, responsible for service management, you will lead Aftercare’s thinking about best practice service models, efficient and effective operation whilst leading advocacy for systemic improvement in funding models, government policy and more. As a client champion you will focus on the needs of adults and older adults and an improvement in and achievement of positive outcomes for this cohort. As an empowering leader, you will ensure your people have the resources and tools they need to fulfil their roles and do everything you can to ensure they are successful. In your areas of service leadership and client focus, you will play a key leadership role in developing sustainable income and contributing to organisation growth.

As the successful applicant, you will be a passionate leader with a demonstrated understanding and commitment to recovery oriented practice in mental health service delivery. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside experience in leading transformational change, you will have displayed strong decision-making and leadership qualities in previous roles.
