Position Summary

The Network Project Officer will provide a central and strategic leadership role to ensure the delivery of high quality health services to children, families and carers of individuals within the St Vincent’s Health Network (SVHN). The Network Project Officer will take a lead role in the planning, development, delivery and monitoring of relevant children, young people families and carer programs throughout the SVHN, including responsibility for the Kids and Families Strategic Plan. In addition, this position will act as a resource and content expert in the identification, referral and reporting requirements for child protection cases. This will be primarily in the provision of education for all staff who work directly with children or young people in compliance with the Child Wellbeing and Child Protection Policies and Procedures for NSW Health PD2013_007. In addition, this role will support the staff of SVHS in the operational and strategic issues around access of NDIS services and will own responsibility for coordination of the Network Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
  • Relevant tertiary management and/or health qualification or equivalent experience recognised by the organisation.
  • Sound knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks for Children, Young People, Families & Carers and NDIS.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a NSW health setting with the ability to consult and negotiate complex and sensitive issues at state and local levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire to achieve organisational and patient outcomes.
  • Proven effective negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) with a wide range of stakeholders including patients, consumers and network representatives.
  • Previous clinical experience in the area of child protection, child abuse or domestic violence.
  • Ability to lead quality and program improvement activities.
