The Centre

A purpose-built, spacious and modern centre that has been in operation for 4 years.
The centre is located on the same site as a K-12 school and as a result has a strong tie and connection to the wider school community.

They cater to 59 children aged 2 to 5 years of age.

With a focus on the cultural inclusivity of their students and embedding this into their everyday program and school readiness.

The owners have recently acquired the centre and believe that to have a high-quality service, that; time, resources and support must be provided to Educators and as such offer the opportunity for non-contact programming and documentation time, professional development and staff meetings.

The centre has an established and connected team of Educators, onsite cook, administration and accounts support.

The centre operates between 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.


The Position

This centre is looking for a strong leader to take on the role as Centre Director, the candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, excellent management skills and a strong pedagogical background. 


The role will initially be a partial Teaching role until occupancy has increased and will then be predominantly a Non-Teaching role.

Offering a unique opportunity for complete autonomy in the service, this is a chance to develop and nurture the service culture and team with a real ability to effect positive change.

Due to this role being such a unique opportunity and the owners having a strong focus on Quality the role is best suited to an experienced Director who has ideally had experience in the opening of a new centre.


Your duties & responsibilities will be:
  • Building partnerships within the community
  • Leading a team of highly qualified educators
  • Cultural sensitivity and inclusion in your approach and actions
  • Creating trusting and long lasting relationships with parents and families
  • Assist Educators and be accessible and understanding of their needs
  • Provide opportunities for Professional Development for staff including one-on-one support and training
  • Completing Monthly management & financial reports
  • Ensure the compliance and the pedagogy of the centre is to an Exceeding level
  • Manage the centre effectively by ensuring educators demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, allocating resources, ensuring safe caring learning environment for the children and liaising effectively with educators and parents
  • Lead a program that contributes to each child's interests, emotional and social wellbeing
  • Ensure health, safety and wellbeing of children attending the centre
  • Improve educational and developmental outcomes for children attending the centre
  • Promote community awareness and engagement
  • Lead and document monthly team meetings
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures of the centre In line with changing legislation

Essential Criteria:
  • Must hold a COMPLETED Bachelor or Masters of Early Childhood Education. (Overseas qualifications must have been assessed by ACECQA)
  • MINIMUM of 2yrs previous Centre Director experience.
  • Current BOSTES/NESA registration.
  • Hold a PAID NSW Working With Children's Check.
  • Holds a current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate.
  • Have strong working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Excellent customer service and partnership building skills
  • Strong mentoring and team leadership skills
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Be a motivated and flexible team player.
